Cole Strange will have to wait at least one more week to make his return.

Strange, who the New England Patriots listed as questionable entering Sunday’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals, is inactive in Week 15.

The 2022 first-round pick has been recovering from a knee injury and was activated to the roster this week at the conclusion of his 21-day practice window. Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo suggested Strange, who hasn’t played in nearly a full year, could play in Arizona.

The Patriots, however, received good news on three key defenders.

Cornerback Christian Gonzalez (shoulder), defensive tackle Christian Barmore (non-injury related) and safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) are active after being questionable. Offensive tackle Vederian Lowe (shoulder) also is active after dealing with his own ailment.
