The Patriots will play the Los Angeles Chargers in the penultimate game of the regular season and will be without a dynamic playmaker.
New England on Thursday ruled out cornerback Marcus Jones due to a hip injury; it will be the second straight game the 26-year-old will miss this season. The Patriots likely will promote wide receiver Alex Erickson from the practice squad to play special teams against his former team.
The Patriots listed 10 players as questionable for Saturday’s matchup at Gillette Stadium. One notable injury is center Ben Brown who is in the concussion protocol. Head coach Jerod Mayo noted Brown’s status is in the NFL’s hands and seemed open to Cole Strange possibly making his season debut. Running back JaMycal Hasty was removed from the injury report.
Los Angeles ruled out running back Gus Edwards due to an ankle injury, and J.K. Dobbins was ruled questionable due to a knee injury.
Here is the full injury report for the Patriots.
