Antonio Gibson made a handful of solid plays in a New England Patriots loss to the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday.

The veteran running back also made a play in the contest that subjected him to a fine.

The NFL announced Saturday that Gibson was fined $14,805 for unnecessary roughness (use of the helmet) as he tried to pick up blitzing Cardinals linebacker and former Patriot Mack Wilson less than two minutes into the game. Wilson suffered a concussion on the hit from Gibson, who wasn’t penalized for the block in the moment, and did not return. Wilson won’t suit up in Week 16 with Arizona traveling to the Carolina Panthers.

Gibson wasn’t the only Patriots player whose wallet was lighter following the game with the Cardinals.

Patriots captain Deatrich Wise was also disciplined by the NFL for a horse-collar tackle on Kyler Murray. Wise was flagged for his illegal takedown of the quarterback and hit with a $16,883 fine for it, too.

Cardinals wide receiver Zach Pascal received punishment from the league in the form of a $11,255 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting), which occurred in the fourth quarter.

Gibson and Wise will try not to fork over any more money to the NFL this Sunday when the Patriots take on the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET.
