The Boston Red Sox will begin their pivot points after the marquee free agent of the offseason came off the board Sunday night.
Juan Soto reportedly agreed to a record-breaking contract with the New York Mets to the tune of 15 years and $765 million. The Red Sox still have moves to make, but the fanbase certainly reacted to the massive news of the offseason.
Several fans and Red Sox personalities took to X after Soto’s reported deal.
@Jared_Carrabis: “The American League is now wide open. Now go get some frontline starters and bring the Red Sox back to contention.”
@BostonStrong_34: “We all wanted Juan Soto to play with the Red Sox but not giving him $765 million and him not signing with the Yankees is a win-win situation.”

@Steve_Perrault: “I genuinely feel fine that Juan Soto is not coming to the Red Sox. Generational talent. Heading to Cooperstown. Sox actually were in it until the end. He flips the bird to the Yankees and goes to their crosstown rival. American League is wide open now. Sox, kid.”
@15Higgins: “It would’ve been awesome if the Red Sox signed Juan Soto. But now it’s time to turn the page and go upgrade the roster. They need to go get multiple starting pitchers and a right handed power bat. Go sign Fried. Go trade for Crochet. Spend money and make moves.”
@jkz_the_real_1: “I never truly thought Juan Soto was going to the Red Sox, but it was really nice to have fun and dream a bit, and to make the Red Sox FEEL like the Red Sox I remember. The Sox need to do something to bring me back strong to Red Sox Nation.”
@AndrewBetsSharp: “KD to the Celtics = Juan Soto to the Red Sox”

@BallKnowerTakes: “Yankees just let the Red Sox become favorites for the division. Orioles window is closing soon, but the Yankees blew (signing) Juan Soto. Red Sox bigger winners than the Mets mark my words!”
