New Year’s Eve is the time to make predictions as the calendar page turns, and one sports media reporter believes 2025 could be pivotal for Tom Brady.

The New England Patriots legend signed a $10-year, 375 million contract with FOX. However, The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch has been one of the most vocal people in the media predicting that the 47-year-old won’t finish his deal. He doubled down on that sentiment in a Tuesday column.

“I’ve previously said I’d put down big money that Brady will not finish his 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX, given all his various business interests away from broadcasting, including ownership. That remains true,” Deitsch wrote. “The safer prediction would be that Brady walks away from his FOX deal after three or four years. But I’m going bold and saying Brady gets deeper involved with the Las Vegas Raiders in the offseason and decides to go all in with NFL ownership and his production company by the start of the next NFL season.”

Brady’s first season as a broadcaster was a mixed bag. The seven-time Super Bowl sometimes offered great insight and showcased why he’s one of the best minds to ever play the game. Other times, it felt like the lights were too bright for Brady and that the transition from player to broadcaster would take more time.

The transition was made tougher due to the limitations placed on the three-time NFL MVP due to his role as part owner of the Raiders.

FOX carries the broadcast for Super Bowl LIX, so there will be a massive spotlight on Brady. It might also be his last time in the booth if Deitsch’s prediction proves to be true.
