The New England Patriots were one loss away from securing the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Unfortunately for Patriots fans, New England showed up to play in its Week 18 matchup with the AFC Division champion Buffalo Bills, something head coach Jerod Mayo emphasized when he spoke with the media following the game.

“Anytime we step foot (on the field),” Mayo told reporters. “I’ve said this over the past couple of weeks, as a player, as a coach, we always want to go out there and win.”

The Patriots defeated the Bills, 23-16, and New England fans flocked to X to show their displeasure with the win.
