The Penn State Nittany Lions take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl during the College Football Playoff.
Each team started the postseason with home victories over the SMU Mustangs and the Indiana Hoosiers respectively. Notre Dame followed it up with a Sugar Bowl win over the Georgia Bulldogs while Penn State moved past the Boise State Broncos in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Nittany Lions and the Fighting Irish square off in the first of two semi-final games before the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns battle in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night in Dallas.
