The Patriots are in a position where every day counts, especially when we’re talking about the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
Indianapolis has been home to workouts throughout the last several days, but the ratings undoubtedly received a boost when quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs took the field on Saturday.
(If you’re looking for analysis on Day 1 or Day 2, we have that.)
New England had representatives at Lucas Oil Stadium who were hoping for players to make a name for themselves, and a few did. We know you’ve been waiting for this group, so let’s not waste any more time and get into the studs and duds:
STUDS
WR Matthew Golden
Golden exploded onto the scene this season, serving as a relatively surprising breakout for the absolutely stacked Texas Longhorns.

It’s kind of a habit of his at this point, as he continued one-upping his now former teammates by running a 4.29 second 40-yard dash — the fastest of the day across all positions.
WR Jayden Higgins
Higgins confirmed everything his believers thought of him, which is exactly what the goal should have been heading into the weekend.
WR Jaylin Noel
I’d draft anyone from Iowa State. What a weekend for the Cyclones.
RB Omarion Hampton
Ashton Jeanty elected not to work out Saturday, which was just fine by Hampton.

Hampton further cemented his status as the second best option for teams looking for backfield help, as he looked smooth in both the rushing and passing drills. North Carolina’s best product ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds, had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot, 10-inch broad jump.
QB Tyler Shough
Shough was not only the funniest player at the combine, but he might have shot himself into the conversation of being QB3. Do you want to draft a 25-year-old? No, but he might be the best option on Day 2.
DUDS
WR Tez Johnson
Johnson is the lightest player to ever come through the combine. He was significantly slower than people anticipated him to be and had a few touchy moments during drills.
Yikes.

WR Isaiah Bond
Bond told everyone who would listen that he anticipated breaking the combine’s 40-yard dash record. Do you think he did it? Nope! You simply can’t be that wrong and expect everyone not to make fun of you.
It’s also a tough look that he got outshined by a teammate who is actually fast.
