After starting with a win in their season-opener, the Boston Red Sox now will try to salvage a series split against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field on Sunday afternoon.

Boston dropped each of its last two contests, including a 4-3 defeat in Arlington on Saturday night.

Ceddanne Rafaela will return to the lineup and play center field while Trevor Story gets the day off. David Hamilton will replace Story at short while Kristian Campbell returns to second base.

Red Sox right-hander Richard Fitts will get the ball in the series finale. The 25-year-old Fitts started four games for Boston last season (1.74 ERA in 20 2/3 innings).

Texas will counter with right-hander Jacob deGrom, a No. 4 starter more recognizable than most in MLB. deGrom, however, started just three games in 2024 after he recovered from a second Tommy John surgery.
