Celtics fans love the chemistry between Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis, and the former didn’t disappoint them Friday night.

Porzingis suffered what looked like a scary-looking injury when he suffered a cut on his nose. The Boston big man tried to block Cody Martin’s dunk in the fourth quarter, and the Phoenix Suns forward inadvertently elbowed Porzingis in the face. The 29-year-old quickly got to his feet with a big smile and pumped up the TD Garden crowd.

The cut required stitches, and Porzingis didn’t return. However, Boston’s 123-103 win likely hinted that he avoided a serious injury and wasn’t needed to finish the game. That didn’t mean he avoided jabs from his teammates.

“I told KP, ‘The stitches can’t make you uglier than you already are,'” Brown told Abby Chin postgame, per NBC Sports Boston’s Darren Hartwell.

Luke Kornet compared Porzingis to a pro wrestler or UFC fighter for having blood drip down his face but still getting the crowd going.
