The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens played in their final season meeting on Thursday night, the first game between the two teams since December 11. Cole Caulfield tied his career-high in points (65) with the game winning goal in the second period. Cole Koepke was also busy in the second period, dropping the gloves for his first NHL fight in a bout against defenseman Kaiden Guhle after taking exception to a hit on Fabian Lysell.
The Bruins sole goal came in the third period with Elias Lindholm’s fourteenth of the season. Morgan Geekie, who picked up a secondary assist on the goal, is now on a five-game point streak.
The Bruins fell to the Canadiens 4-1, and are on a ten-game losing streak, their longest since 2010.
