Mother Nature crashed the party Saturday at Fenway Park, forcing a rain postponement that’ll result in a series-ending doubleheader Sunday between the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red Sox took the first game of the series — their home opener — Friday behind an offensive onslaught. Boston totaled 16 hits en route to a 13-9 win, marking the Red Sox’s third consecutive victory after a shaky start to the season in Texas.

Can Boston keep its momentum alive Sunday after Saturday’s inclement weather?

Game 1 of Sunday’s doubleheader begins at 1:35 p.m. ET, with coverage on NESN, and Game 2 is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.

Wilyer Abreu, a late scratch Saturday before the postponement, is not in the lineup for the first game of the twin bill. Rob Refsnyder instead draws the start in right field, patrolling the grass alongside Jarren Duran in left field and Kristian Campbell in center field.

David Hamilton starts at second base — with Campbell playing the outfield — and Connor Wong returns behind the plate after Carlos Narváez drew the assignment Friday.

Sean Newcomb, a Massachusetts native, will toe the rubber for Boston. The left-hander suffered the loss Monday in his Red Sox debut, allowing four runs on eight hits over four innings as Boston fell to the Baltimore Orioles 8-5 at Camden Yards.
