Red Sox pitcher Brayan Bello has made three starts for the Triple-A WooSox so far as he rehabs his shoulder and works his way toward making his season debut for Boston.

In his latest start, Bello tossed four innings, allowing four runs (two earned) while surrendering four hits without walking a batter and striking out five.

“There were a couple of pitches I left off the plate,” Bello told reporters through team translator Carlos Villoria-Benitez, per video posted by Telegram & Gazette’s Tommy Cassell. “But, besides that, I felt very good. I was trying to do my best for the first pitch.”

Bello says he feels “100 percent healthy” and is ready to join his teammates on the road. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old right-handed pitcher, Red Sox manager Alex Cora would prefer that Bello get at least one more start in Worcester.

“He was okay. He was good,” Cora told reporters at Rate Field before Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox. “So now, we’ll see how he recovers today. There’s definitely one more (start). Definitely.

“We’ll see how he works out as far as like the weather and where. But, we feel pretty good. We feel pretty good, but it is more about him than us. If you want to be reactive, you’ve got to think about him and take care of him so he can take care of us.”

Bello increased his pitch count with each rehab start, and he got up to 64 pitches on Friday. If he continues to add 10-15 pitches each outing, he will most likely be able to go 90 pitches once he joins the Major League team. New England’s weather will definitely play a part in Bello’s continued rehab.

“The weather is going to be iffy in Worcester this weekend,” Cora said. “Obviously in Portland, too, so we’ll figure it out. They’re working on that to see where he’s going to pitch next. The weather doesn’t look promising. Hopefully, it changes, and he can pitch.”
