The PWHL regular season concludes Saturday, and the Fleet have a simple task to clinch a playoff spot.

Boston is third in the standings heading into Saturday’s matchup against the Frost at Tsongas Center. It is two points ahead of the Ottawa Charge and three points ahead of Minnesota. With two postseason spots up for grabs, the Fleet need just one point Saturday to clinch one of those positions.

An Ottawa Charge loss to the Toronto Sceptres would also help the Fleet earn a playoff spot.

However, it won’t be an easy task. The Frost have had the Fleet’s number this season with a 3-0 record in the season series. And Courtney Kessel’s side heads into Saturday having lost four of their last five games.

Boston showed fight against the Victoire at Place Bell on Monday when it came back from a 2-0 deficit to force overtime. But it fell short. That could be excused due to Montréal being the top team in the PWHL and the favorite to win the Walter Cup, but Boston needs to be in top form if it wants to make another run to the Walter Cup Finals.
