Brad Marchand had a tough time putting it into words.

Marchand won his second Stanley Cup on Tuesday night after the Florida Panthers bested the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Florida repeated as champions by claiming the best-of-seven series 4-2.

“It’s incredible,” Marchand said on the TNT broadcast after Florida’s 5-1 victory at Amerant Bank Arena. “It’s a feeling you can’t really describe. Seeing the family and everyone up there, everyone that’s supported me and helped me get to this point, there’s nothing — words can’t put this into reality. How great it feels.”

Marchand, who spent 16 seasons with the Boston Bruins before he was traded to the Panthers in March, scored six goals in the Stanley Cup Finals. The veteran winger, however, did not earn Conn Smythe honors, which went to Sam Bennett. Bennett finished the Stanley Cup playoffs with 22 points on 15 goals in 23 games.

“Such an incredible group,” Marchand said. “And everybody wrote us off from the start of the playoffs, they had everybody beating us in every round, and we just had that fire. We knew we had something special. It’s incredible to be a part of this group right now.”
