Following Sunday’s 2-0 victory over the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox reportedly traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Kyle Harrison, Jordan Hicks, and two prospects, according to Fansided.com’s Robert Murray.
Tibbs was the 13th overall pick in the 2024 draft.
The move comes after Devers homered in Sunday’s victory. Devers has spent the entirety of 2025 as a designated hitter following the signing of Alex Bregman. He was openly unhappy with the decision, not wanting to give up third base. The team then wanted Devers to move to first base after Triston Casas’ season-ending knee injury, but he refused.
Devers is in the second year of a 10-year contract that expires after the 2033 season.
This season, Devers is hitting .272 with 15 homers and 58 RBIs in 73 games.
