While the Bruins and Panthers may be enemies on the ice, head coach Marco Sturm thinks Boston could learn a thing or two from Florida.

The Panthers have had a lot of success in recent years, winning their first Stanley Cup in 2024 and pushing for another one this season. Florida will take a 2-1 series lead into Thursday’s Game 4 against the Edmonton Oilers.

With the success the Bruins’ rivals have had, Sturm thinks his team could look at the Panthers’ playing style heading into next season.

“I don’t know if we can play the same style but I, for the last couple of years, have looked at the Panthers,” Sturm told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Felger & Mazz” on Tuesday. “There is a lot of other coaches because you look at the best. I think in lots of different areas of the game they do it really well.”

The Panthers have former Bruins captain Brad Marchand on their team, and he’s been a leader during the playoffs. In three Stanley Cup Final games, Marchand totaled four goals, including an overtime winner.

The Panthers play a physical style of hockey that makes their opponents work for the puck. The Bruins could look to do the same and make teams fight for wins.

“Yes, I look at a bunch of different areas in their game because they are that good,” Sturm said.
