Washington Commanders general manager Adam Peters does not intend to trade Terry McLaurin.
Speaking to reporters before the start of training camp Tuesday, Peters weighed in on the contract negotiations involving the star wide receiver. McLaurin recently expressed frustration and disappointment about the lack of progress as he enters his final year under contract.
“First, without a doubt, I think everybody in this building values Terry very much,” Peters told reporters, per a team-provided video. “We knew that coming in and we know that even more after spending a year with him.
“In terms of where we’re at, we’ve had conversations recently and we’ll look to have some more conversations. We’re going to do whatever we can to get a deal done.”

Doing whatever it takes likely will cost the Commanders some $30 million per season, the deal McLaurin reportedly desires. If Washington isn’t comfortable with such an agreement, though, McLaurin reportedly could consider his options including a holdout, hold-in or even a trade request.
