The Boston Red Sox have quite the week ahead…

FanSided’s Robert Murray seems to think so, anyway.

Murray, speaking on “The Baseball Insiders” on Tuesday, not only broke down how busy they’d be, but also pointed in the direction in which he expects them to make upgrades.

“I would guess that starting pitching is probably going to be the most realistic move there, adding some reinforcements,” Murray said. “I would also look at first base for Boston, being a priority for them. Whether it’s Ryan O’Hearn, or Josh Naylor, or whoever it is… They are definitely motivated to buy and I expect them to be quite busy.”

Surprised?

No, of course you aren’t.

Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow essentially promised he would buy at the deadline, and after a torrid streak prior to the break, the club is now in position to contend. Romy González and Abraham Toro have formed a decent platoon at first base, but with both cooling off as of recently, there’s room for improvement at the position. Boston’s need for starting pitching is unsurprising if not only for the fact that everyone is looking for starters at this point.
