The Boston Red Sox reportedly rejected a trade offer from the San Diego Padres.

The Padres offered a trade package for Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, according to MassLive’s Sean McAdam. San Diego would have dealt pitcher Dylan Cease, catching prospect Ethan Salas and another prospect. Boston quickly rejected the offer, however.

New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported the Red Sox are unlikely to deal Duran despite interest from the Padres.

Duran has been included in trade speculation, but Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow indicated Boston will not part with its outfield depth simply because they have more options in the grass.

The MLB trade deadline is July 31.
