Baseball America has updated its top 100 prospects rankings following the 2025 MLB Draft, and it’s loaded with Boston Red Sox players.
Despite promoting top prospects Marcelo Mayer and Roman Anthony to the Major Leagues this year and trading Kyle Teel for Garrett Crochet last winter, the Red Sox still boast one of the best farm systems in baseball. They have six prospects in Baseball America’s top 100, led by Mayer at No. 11.
While Mayer is already in the big leagues, Boston still has plenty of depth in the minors, especially on the mound.
Payton Tolle, a second-round pick out of TCU last year, ranks No. 49 according to Baseball America. The 22-year-old left-handed pitcher has flourished at High-A and Double-A this year, going 2-4 with a 3.10 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP and a 110:19 K/BB ratio over 72 2/3 innings.
Franklin Arias is only 19, but he already ranks No. 57 on the list. Now in his third season with the Red Sox organization, he’s progressed to High-A ball this year. The young shortstop has shown plenty of promise with his speed and on-base ability, batting .304/.383/.439 with 14 homers, 48 steals and a 91:116 BB/K ratio in 204 Minor League games.

Boston’s first-round pick in this year’s draft, Kyson Witherspoon, checks in at No. 66. The 20-year-old right-hander out of Oklahoma is regarded as one of the best arms in his draft class and appears to have a bright future.
Another pitcher, Brandon Clarke, ranks No. 81. A fifth-round draft pick last year, the 22-year-old lefty is currently at High-A Greenville. He’s made 12 starts in the minors so far, going 0-1 with a 3.09 ERA, a 0.97 WHIP and a whopping 56 strikeouts in 35 innings.

Outfielder Jhostynxyon Garcia ranks No. 95 despite being the closest to the big leagues. The 22-year-old has been tearing up Triple-A Worcester, slashing .295/.370/.530 with 11 home runs and 31 RBI in 47 games there this season and earning a spot in the MLB All-Star Futures Game.
The timing of the list is notable with the MLB Trade Deadline later this week. With the Red Sox fighting for a playoff spot, they may be looking to move prospects to acquire big-league help. However, given the front office’s reported reluctance to pursue any massive trades, the names on this list are likely safe.
With so many young stars already on the roster and more on the way, Boston’s future appears to be in good hands thanks to Breslow and his predecessor, Chaim Bloom.
