Roman Anthony put on another great performance Monday night, and in doing so, joined impressive Red Sox company.
The rookie outfielder went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBIs in Boston’s 9-3 home win over the Colorado Rockies. The strong showing continued a white-hot stretch for Anthony, who went 17-for-44 with a .386 average and six extra-base hits in his last 10 games. If that sounds good for a 21-year-old big leaguer, it’s because it is.
Per Red Sox stats expert J.P. Long, Anthony is one of just five players in franchise history with 17-plus hits in a 10-game span at 21 years old or younger. Here’s the full list:
— Roman Anthony (2025)
— Tony Conigliaro (1964)
— Ted Williams (1939)
— Bobby Doerr (1938)
— Tris Speaker (1909)
Williams, Doerr and Speaker are all Hall of Famers, and Conigliaro could’ve been if not for an eye injury that derailed his career. So, yeah, Anthony had a decent two weeks.

The much-hyped prospect got off to a rough start after his promotion with a 5-for-44 stretch over his first 15 games. The ensuing 10-game tear left Anthony with a .250 average, two homers and a .751 OPS entering Tuesday night’s game against the Rockies.
First pitch from Fenway Park is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
