A Boston Bruins prospect has been elevated to captain at Boston College.
Andre Gasseau will wear the “C” for the Eagles in 2025-26, joining Brady Berard and Lukas Gustafsson in the leadership group, according to Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub.
The 6-foot-4 forward is entering his senior year in Chestnut Hill after a breakout 2024-25 season that included career highs with 15 goals, 30 points and a plus-23 rating in 36 games. Drafted in the seventh round by Boston in 2021, Gasseau has put up 37 goals and 88 points through 112 collegiate appearances.
What separates Gasseau is a polished offensive toolkit that has sharpened each year. He thrives between the dots, slipping into scoring lanes for one-timers or quick-release wrist shots.
His hands allow him to control difficult passes in stride, turn them into dangerous looks and even beat defenders one-on-one when needed. That ability to blend size with finesse has made him a trusted piece in all situations, whether finishing plays or providing structure for linemates.

That responsibility could soon extend to skating with James Hagens, Boston’s 2025 first round draft pick, after the freshman lost two of his usual linemates to NHL jobs, Anderson floated.
Even if the coaches slot him elsewhere, odds are he will share the ice with other Bruins prospects. Oskar Jellvik, Dean Letourneau, William Moore and defenseman Kristian Kostadinski are also in the mix.
For the Bruins, a late-rounder evolving into a college captain with an expanding offensive game is no small victory. For Gasseau, the captaincy is a chance to showcase growth before the Bruins decide where he fits in the organization.

It is a leadership role that carries weight for both the Eagles and the Black and Gold.
