Patriots Roster Revealed: 53-Man Group Finalized After Deadline

UPDATE (4:30 p.m. ET): The Patriots have their initial 53-man roster.

New England made a series of roster cuts ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline, with Cole Strange and Parker Romo among the more notable casualties. The Patriots also placed receiver Ja’Lynn Polk and linebacker Jahlani Tavai on injured reserve, with Tavai designated to return sometime during the season. Polk will miss the entire campaign.

The Patriots must trim their roster to 53 by 4 p.m. ET. They also can place up to two players on injured reserve with designations to return during the season. Those players wouldn’t take one of the 53 spots; prior to the 2024 campaign, teams either had to place players on IR before the cutdown, thus ending their season, or include them on the initial 53-man roster before putting them on in-season IR before Week 1.
