Red Sox Land 2 Players on 2025 All-MLB Team In Latest Poll Results

The Boston Red Sox wake up Wednesday tied for second place in the American League Wild Card standings.

Much of the club’s success this year is tied to left-handers Garrett Crochet and Aroldis Chapman. As a result, both are projected to land on the 2025 All-MLB Team, based on the latest poll results from MLB.com.

Crochet was one of five starting pitchers on the first team, along with Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes, Philadelphia Phillies lefty Cristopher Sánchez and Houston Astros righty Hunter Brown.

“Crochet might have something to say about Skubal winning the AL Cy Young Award this season,” MLB.com’s Brent Maguire and Theo DeRosa wrote Tuesday. “In his first year with Boston following a huge offseason trade with the White Sox, Crochet leads the Majors with 196 strikeouts and his 2.43 ERA is fourth-lowest among qualified starters.

“He is neck and neck with Skubal in the American League right now,” the duo added.

Chapman and New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz made the second team as relievers, behind the first-team selections: Seattle Mariners right-hander Andres Munoz and Philadelphia Phillies righty Jhoan Duran.

“Chapman hasn’t missed a step at age 37 — in fact, he may only be getting better,” Maguire and DeRosa noted. “The hard-throwing lefty has rewarded the Red Sox after signing a one-year deal with Boston, posting a career-low 1.15 ERA in 47 innings.”

The only other Red Sox player to receive a vote in August’s poll was third baseman Alex Bregman.

Cleveland Guardians’ Jose Ramirez earned first-team honors with San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado landing on the second team, based on the latest ballot results.
