The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will meet in The Bronx this weekend with both lineups going in different directions at the plate.

For Boston, Trevor Story is leading the charge. The veteran infielder is batting .333 over his last 21 at-bats with a home run, four RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

Roman Anthony has been equally steady, going 6-for-19 with five runs scored during that stretch. Alex Bregman has delivered timely hits as well, collecting four knocks in his last 14 at-bats with two RBI and two runs scored. The Red Sox will need all three locked in as they look to extend their 5-1 advantage in the season series.

The Yankees enter the weekend on an offensive surge.

Trade deadline addition José Caballero has given the lineup a jolt from the bottom spot, going 7-for-16 with two home runs, six runs scored, four RBI and five stolen bases.

Giancarlo Stanton has launched three home runs in his last four at-bats, driving in six.

Cody Bellinger remains steady in the middle of the order, hitting .333 with two homers and six RBI in his past 18 trips.

Aaron Judge remains the centerpiece of New York’s attack, entering the series with a .330 average, 40 home runs and 92 RBI.

Boston has managed to hold him somewhat in check, limiting him to a .280 mark in six head-to-head games this season. Judge has three home runs in those matchups but also 13 strikeouts in 25 at-bats, including four games with three strikeouts.

The Red Sox are still searching for consistency, while the Yankees are scorching at the plate. That contrast sets up a pivotal four-game series in The Bronx that could tilt the balance of the AL East race.
