The Miami Marlins completed three-game series sweep of the New York Yankees at LoanDepot Park on Sunday.

Yes, you read that correctly.

It’s the first time in the history of the two franchise that the former swept the latter in a three-game series, and the home team celebrated the occasion by trolling the away squad by playing some “Sweet Caroline,” as shared by Daniel Álvarez-Montes of ElExtrabase.

The Boston Red Sox, of course, were the biggest winners of that sweep, as it — alongside their own sweep of the Houston Astros — moved them into second place in the American League East.

The Yankees have been on a brutal stretch as of late, losing three of their last four series and slipping down the standings at an alarming rate. New York is also without two-time MVP Aaron Judge, which helps provide context to the slide.
