Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman believes the team is clicking ahead of a playoff push.

The Red Sox open a three-game series on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, before ending their season at home against the Detroit Tigers. Boston currently is holding onto the second wild card spot and is looking to clinch a place in the postseason in the coming days.

Boston is coming off a series win over the Tampa Bay Rays and is looking to build off that against Toronto. Ahead of the final two series, Bregman believes Boston’s offense is in a good spot.

“I thought the biggest thing, my takeaway from this series (against the Tampa Bay Rays) is, offensively, we’re in a good spot,” Bregman said. “We’re in a lot better spot than we were. We’re putting pressure on the defense. We’re running the bases. We’re on base pretty much every inning.”

The Red Sox’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot is four. If they punch their ticket, the Red Sox will snap a three-year playoff drought.

“Every game counts. We’re in a good position,” manager Alex Cora said, via MLB.com. “That was a good series by the boys. They battled. They did an amazing job, and we’ve just got to be ready for Tuesday.”

Boston has set its rotation up to see Lucas Giolito, Garrett Crochet, and Brayan Bello pitch against the Blue Jays in the pivotal series against their division rival.
