Oddsmakers aren’t anticipating a deep playoff run for the Boston Red Sox.
Following an 89-73 regular season, Boston begins the postseason with a Wild Card Series matchup against the New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers will host every game of the best-of-three set after going 94-68.
Las Vegas thus favors the Yankees to advance to the American League Division Series, where the Toronto Blue Jays await. The Red Sox are +148 underdogs to win the series on FanDuel Sportsbook and +150 to beat the Yankees on ESPN Bet.
Luckily for Boston, anything can happen in a short series.
The Red Sox are a slimmer +112 underdog in Game 1 on FanDuel. The series trajectory will obviously change if Garrett Crochet pitches Boston to a triumph on Tuesday night.

Brayan Bello, who posted a 1.89 ERA in three starts against the Yankees this season, will start Game 2. Lucas Giolito would start a winner-take-all Game 3, if necessary.
New York will counter with left-handed aces Max Fried and Carlos Rodón to start the first games, with rookie Cam Schittler likely starting a possible Game 3.
The Red Sox can take solace in going 9-4 against the Yankees this season, winning five of seven games on the road. Yet New York concluded the regular season with eight straight victories.
