Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum recently revealed that he’s back on the basketball court working out, which naturally led droves of fans to clamor for footage of JT doing just that.

Having torn his Achilles only 139 days ago, news of Tatum returning to basketball-related activities was surprising for virtually everyone to hear, but what came next was even more awe-inducing.

In a development only made possible by the rapid advancement of modern sports medicine, Tatum is looking incredibly normal these days running, dribbling and shooting, the evidence of which became accessible to the world on Sunday via footage of a recent JT workout hitting the internet.

Somewhere, Dr. Martin O’Malley is smiling. The renowned foot and ankle surgeon (based in New York) — who previously performed Kevin Durant’s Achilles operation in 2019 — operated on Tatum merely 12 hours after JT suffered his Achilles injury against the New York Knicks on May 12. And O’Malley’s work is looking stellar, thanks also to the diligent daily work put in by Tatum.

With KD still playing NBA basketball at a high level six years removed from his surgery, there’s plenty of reason to believe that Tatum will bounce back in a big way in the coming months.
