The New York Yankees could find themselves on the other end of future, ‘Who’s your daddy?” chants following Pedro Martinez’s proclamation.

After eliminating the Boston Red Sox in the American League Wild Card Series, the Yankees also got sent home by a division rival. The Toronto Blue Jays booted the New York Yankees with a 5-2 win on Wednesday night.

Martinez took the moment to tell the Yankees they have a new daddy. The former Red Sox ace has heard Yankees fans taunt him with his famous remark since 2004, but he giddily celebrated Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s ALDS dominance during TBS’s post-game show.

“Now I finally realize who their daddy is,” Martinez said, standing up for dramatic effect before host Adam Lefkoe asked for the reveal. “Oh, my godson. Oh yeah. Vladdy Jr. is their daddy, and that is a fact. And I’m so happy for that.

“Now they don’t have to search anywhere. They just have to look at Vladdy and really say, ‘You my daddy, Vladdy.'”

Guerrero Jr. went 9-for-17 with two walks, three home runs, and nine RBIs during a remarkable four-game series. That’s after the All-Star first baseman registered a 1.007 OPS in 13 regular-season games against the Bronx Bombers.

While he didn’t go deep in Wednesday night’s elimination win, Guerrero reached base twice and scored on an acrobatic slide into home plate.

Martinez played with his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., on the Montreal Expos. The Hall of Famer’s godson celebrated Wednesday’s win on another network with a different Red Sox legend.

Guerrero Jr. and David Ortiz declared, “Daaaaaa Yankees lose!” together during a Fox Sports interview, to the chagrin of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. The Blue Jays will play the Seattle Mariners or Detroit Tigers for the AL pennant.
