Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has transformed the 2025 MLB playoffs into his personal showcase. Vladdy has been absolutely en fuego, and he’s carried the Toronto Blue Jays to within two games of the World Series.

With a staggering .455 batting average, five home runs, and 11 RBIs through eight playoff games, the 26-year-old first baseman is on an historic run.

Guerrero’s postseason erupted in the ALDS against the New York Yankees, where the Blue Jays advanced with a 3-1 series win. In Game 1 of that series, Vladdy went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, setting an aggressive tone in Toronto’s 10-1 rout.

The next day, he crushed a grand slam in Game 2, finishing 3-for-5 with four RBIs to fuel a 13-7 victory. Even in the lone loss, a 9-6 defeat in Game 3, Guerrero added a two-run homer and scored twice. He capped the series in Game 4 with an RBI single, totaling nine hits, three homers, and nine RBIs across 17 at-bats for a 1.609 OPS.

This output made him the first player in MLB history to record nine hits and nine RBIs in the first four games of a postseason. Astounding stuff.

Shifting to the ALCS, Guerrero shook off a slow start in the first two home games—going 0-for-7 with a walk in losses that put Toronto down 0-2. He exploded in Game 3 in Seattle, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored, and an RBI in a 13-4 blowout. This effort tied him with José Bautista for the most homers in a single Blue Jays postseason at four.

The following night in Game 4, Guerrero broke that record with his fifth homer—a solo shot in an 8-2 win that evened the series—while adding another hit for good measure. His two homers over those road games helped Toronto outscore Seattle 21-6, flipping the momentum.

Beyond the raw power, Guerrero’s discipline in these playoffs stands out: just one strikeout in 38 plate appearances, paired with four walks.

For a Blue Jays team that bet big on extending Guerrero earlier this year, his play has validated the faith, turning potential doubt into championship contention. As the series returns to Toronto, all eyes are on whether Vladdy can sustain this torrid pace and lead his club to its first pennant since 1993.

At the end of the day, Guerrero is establishing himself as an icon in the history of the Blue Jays franchise, no matter how this series ends.
