New England Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis III will make his return to Raymond James Stadium on Sunday for the first time since being traded by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in March 2024.
Davis, who spent the first six seasons of his career with the Buccaneers before being sent to the Detroit Lions, signed with the Patriots in March.
The 28-year-old discussed the upcoming reunion on Friday.
“It’ll be fun re-living all of those moments I had in there,” Davis said, according to a report by MassLive’s Karen Guregian. “But it’s a new season. I don’t want to be too emotional about it. I just want to keep it to business.”
Davis helped Tampa Bay win the Super Bowl in 2021, recording a career-high four interceptions that season.

The former second-round draft pick said he was in “disbelief” when the Buccaneers traded him.
“I didn’t see it coming. My agent didn’t see it coming,” Davis said, per Guregian’s report. “It was definitely a surprise for me. … It’s just an example of how this game can go, and how cutthroat it can be, sometimes.”
The defensive back is coming off a strong game in New England’s Week 9 victory vs. the Atlanta Falcons, finishing the win with six tackles and one pass defended.
