In the most hilarious NBA news of the day, Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob — net worth north of $2 billion — responded to a random fan’s e-mail expressing frustration about the Warriors’ recent performance.
The e-mail correspondence, which made its way to social media and went viral on Tuesday, started when Warriors fan “Justin” took a shot in the dark and sent an e-mail directly to Lacob, communicating his angst over the Warriors’ season.
“Dear Joe, Please do something about this Team,” the e-mail from Justin read. “What Steph need to do every night to win? Drop 50 points? Team is need a real second option. Jimmy’s tools are being underutilized because he is playing as a power forward due to the small position players. We have no true center. I am so frustrated. Thanks, Justin.”
In an amazing turn of events, Lacob replied to Justin with a short but meaningful message sent from his iPhone.
“You can’t be as frustrated as me,” Lacob wrote. “I am working on it. It’s complicated. Style of play. Coaches desires regarding players. League trends. Jimmy is not the problem.”

You gotta love Lacob simply seeing no reason not to respond to the fan, and doing so. It was a move that’ll sure get lauded amongst Warriors fans, even those who, like Justin, are unhappy with the team’s 13-14 record so far this season.
Part of Golden State’s issue is that Stephen Curry has missed nine games already while dealing with injuries. Curry was in action on Sunday night, however, dropping 48 points in a loss against the Chicago Bulls. Al Horford‘s been even less available, missing 14 games for his new club.

Furthermore, Jonathan Kuminga hasn’t become a better fit with this Warriors group, which hasn’t allowed his talents to shine in a way that contributes to winning.
Lacob’s right — there are plenty of things going wrong for the Dubs, but Jimmy Butler doesn’t really factor into that equation.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr actually had to field questions about the leaked e-mail on Tuesday. When asked about the specific aspect of the e-mail from Lacob that referred to “coaches desires regarding players”, Kerr said that it was “not a big deal,” per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.

“Imagine if everyone’s emails were posted publicly, how tough that would be to live,” Kerr added. “Joe supports me. I support him.”
Touché, Steve.
