With a little under six minutes remaining in the first half of the Boston Celtics-Utah Jazz game on Tuesday, Jazz rookie Walter Clayton Jr. received a pass on the left wing during a 3-on-2 fast break and appeared to rise up for a layup with Celtics guard Derrick White protecting the rim.

That’s when Clayton did something unthinkable that absolutely no one saw coming. Clayton took one dribble with his left hand and then activated full Vince Carter mode, rising up like he was wearing a jetpack and flushing a one-handed dunk over White that looked fake until you watched multiple replays.

Among the shocked and shaken observers was Celtics broadcaster Brian Scalabrine, who’s reaction to the play has since gone viral on social media.

The Celtics ultimately won the game, and White tallied no less than seven blocks, but the highlight of the night definitely belonged to Clayton.

The No. 18 overall pick has started his rookie season strong, contributing scoring and playmaking off the bench for a rebuilding Jazz squad.

Next up for the Celtics is a New Year’s Day matchup on the road against the Sacramento Kings. Boston holds a 20-12 record at the moment, which places them in third place in the Eastern Conference.
