Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown is playing the best basketball of his career. He’s scored at least 30 points in nine straight games and 12 of his last 13, raising his scoring average to a career-high 29.7 points per game.

Over his last 13 games, he’s averaging 32.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks per game with 51/40/78 shooting splits, performing at an MVP level on both ends of the court. He’s also helped the Celtics go 9-4 during that span, propelling them to third place in the Eastern Conference.

With Jayson Tatum still sidelined by an Achilles injury, Brown is proving he doesn’t need a sidekick and is more than capable of leading Boston’s offense. He’s also reminding everyone why he’s one of the league’s best players after a disappointing, injury-marred finish to last season.

Brown’s confidence is through the roof, and he hasn’t been afraid to speak his mind off the court, either. Last week, he rightfully claimed that he’s one of the NBA’s top players right now.

“I don’t care who you say right now, ain’t nobody doing it better than me right now,” Brown said on his Twitch livestream after last Monday’s home win over the Indiana Pacers.

After years of playing second fiddle to Tatum, Brown is proving he’s on the same level as guys like Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards and other premier superstars, even if he’s not getting the respect and attention he deserves at the national level.

Brown will look to keep proving that, extend his scoring streak and end 2025 on a high note against the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.
