Jaylen Brown had quite the week for the Boston Celtics to open December, earning NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors as a result.
Brown won the award for the period from Dec. 1 to Dec. 7. Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray won the Western Conference award.
Brown helped the Celtics go 4-0 last week, although he did miss one of their games with illness.
He kicked off the week with a monster 42-point performance against the New York Knicks last Tuesday, leading Boston to a 123-117 victory at TD Garden. The 42 points were a season high for Brown, who shot 16-of-24 from the field and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. He also chipped in four rebounds and four assists.
After missing Thursday’s road win over the Washington Wizards with an illness, Brown returned to help the Celtics take down the Los Angeles Lakers 126-105 at home on Friday. Brown notched 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, threatening a triple-double against the short-handed Lakers.

The four-time All-Star had a similar performance against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, compiling 30 points, eight rebounds and five assists in Boston’s 121-113 road win. In the process, he became just the fourth player in franchise history with at least 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three 3-pointers in back-to-back games.
In three games last week, Brown averaged 34 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line. It was Brown’s fifth career NBA Player of the Week award and first since March 2024.
