The Boston Bruins will still have 44 more regular season games following their Tuesday night showdown vs. the Montreal Canadiens.
Bruins star David Pastrnak called Tuesday’s contest the most important game of the year though, telling media members on Monday that the tilt was a “must-win.”
“We can feel the importance,” the 29-year-old forward said. “We can call it the most important game so far we’ve had this year. It’s a big game for us and we need to bounce back heading into the Christmas break. It’s (the) Montreal Canadiens. It’s very, very easy to get motivated, especially the way the last couple games (went). It’s a must-win tomorrow.”
Boston has lost three games in a row for the first time since suffering a six-game skid in October.
The Bruins fell to the Ottawa Senators at home Sunday night, 6-2, and Tuesday will close a five-game homestand.

Tuesday’s rivalry matchup will be the second Boston-Montreal clash of the campaign.
The Bruins defeated the Canadiens 3-2 on Nov. 15, in Montreal, in a game where Boston defenseman Charlie McAvoy suffered a fractured jaw after being struck in the face by a slap shot.
