If you already call New England home, you don’t need Augustana to tell you, “I think I’ll go to Boston.” But in the summer of 2026, a lot of the world will be saying exactly that as the FIFA World Cup lands in our backyard.
Boston-area matches are on the schedule and tickets are on sale, so here’s what local fans need to know to lock in their seats.
Out of the 16 host cities across North America, Boston is one of them, with seven matches coming to the region through the group and knockout stages.
All of it happens at “Boston Stadium” — FIFA’s tournament name for Gillette Stadium in Foxborough — one of the most recognizable venues in the country. With room for nearly 65,000 fans, it’s the same place you’ve watched the Patriots, Revolution and massive concerts like Taylor Swift under the lights on Route 1.
New England fans already have a reputation as some of the loudest and most passionate in sports. The World Cup will only crank that up, and you can be part of it.
