Former Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic has signed in Scotland amid his comeback to hockey.
Lucic attempted a comeback to the NHL in training camp, as he signed a professional tryout with the St. Louis Blues. Yet, an injury derailed that before he signed a PTO with the Blues’ AHL team to begin the season. Lucic was once again released from the deal as he continued to look at making a comeback.
Now, on Wednesday, the Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club of the Elite Ice Hockey League announced the signing of Lucic.
“Former NHLer Milan Lucic joins the Kingdom,” the team wrote in a statement on Wednesday. “The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club are delighted to announce the signing of former NHL forward Milan Lucic.”
The Fife Flyers are based in Scotland and have been in the EIHL since 2011. This season, the Flyers are last in the league with just three wins in 20 games.

Lucic last played in the NHL during the 2023-24 season with the Bruins. Boston selected Lucic in the second round of the 2006 NHL Draft.
The gritty forward made his Bruins debut during the 2007-08 season. He ended up playing parts of nine seasons with Boston as he helped the Bruins win the Stanley Cup in 2011.
Lucic finished his NHL career skating in 1,177 games, recording 233 goals and 353 assists for 586 points.
