The Ottawa Senators announced on Sunday that goalie Linus Ullmark is taking a leave of absence for “personal reasons.”

“‘Linus has the full support of our organization during this time,” Senators general manager and president of hockey operations Steve Staios said in a statement, according to a post by the team on X. “Out of respect to Linus, we will not be making any further comments.”

The 32-year-old netminder is in his second season with the Senators after being traded from the Boston Bruins in June 2024.

Ullmark had the best year of his career during his second Bruins campaign in 2022-23, posting league bests in goals-against average (1.89) and save percentage (.938) among other categories.

Ullmark’s had a tough 2025-26 campaign though, leading the NHL in goals against (82), while registering a 14-8-5 record across 28 games for a 2.95 goals-against average.
