The New England Patriots put together one of their best games this decade on Sunday.
New England was dominant throughout its matchup with the New York Jets, and brought themselves just one more win away from wrapping up the division with a 42-10 victory at MetLife Stadium.
I’ve got your takeaways:
ABSOLUTE A** WHOOPIN’
The Patriots were always going to win this game, and the majority of people thought they’d do it handedly, but could anyone have expected something this uneven?
New England entered the locker room at halftime leading in just about everything over New York: total yards (344-77), first downs (23-3), turnovers forced (1-0), time of possession (20:17-9:43) and points (35-3), and things didn’t improve very much coming out of the break.

The Jets ran back-to-back fake punts on their first possession of the second half, with the second failing miserably and continuing an avalanche of points that led to an outrageous 42-3 deficit.
It’s as lopsided a game as we’ve seen all season…
$TEFON DIGG$
Stefon Diggs made a nice little chunk of change in this one, securing an extra $500,000 worth of bonuses after cashing in on a few incentives

Diggs finished with six receptions, 101 receiving yards and one touchdown, and is now up to 82-970-4 on the season, which keeps him in position to earn even more money next week against the Miami Dolphins.
The Patriots will pay him $500,000 more if he’s able to reach 90 and 100 total receptions, as well as 1,000, 1,100, 1,200 and 1,300 total receiving yards during the regular season, according to Spotrac.
Hunter Henry and Morgan Moses also earned notable bonuses, with the former cashing $250,000 after reaching 55 catches on the season and the latter all but guaranteeing himself $1.5 million for reaching 90% of the club’s total offensive snaps this season.

BAG OF TRICKS
Diggs’ touchdown might have looked familiar, as it essentially came on the same design as Danny Amendola’s two-point conversion that tied things up at 28-28 in Super Bowl LI.
Josh McDaniels has been around the block a few times, and he’s using that to his advantage.

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
New England entered this game with several injuries that forced some roster shuffling.
Kayshon Boutte (concussion), Mack Hollins (abdomen), Jared Wilson (concussion), Khyiris Tonga (foot), Harold Landry III (knee) and Robert Spillane (ankle) were ruled out prior to the contest, which led to increased opportunities for several players.
Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III getting theirs was perhaps most important, though, as the former received an opportunity to work on some new concepts that hadn’t involved him prior, while the latter finally got on the board with both his first catch and first touchdown. It’ll help them moving forward, and that’s the kind. ofstuff this team was looking for out of this game.
