In light of all the re-ignited trade buzz surrounding Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, Yahoo Sports’ well-known NBA podcaster Kevin O’Connor revisited the idea of Giannis joining the Boston Celtics via trade.

During a new episode of The Kevin O’Connor Show, O’Connor was brainstorming Giannis trade ideas with Yahoo’s Tom Haberstroh and talked about what a Celtics package would look like for the Greek Freak.

“Months ago … when this (Giannis buzz) was first a thing, Brian Windhorst was on Get Up and he was talking about how Giannis, if he wants out, would go East,” O’Connor said. “And the Knicks were mentioned, of course, and … the Celtics were mentioned. So what if the Celtics were to put Jaylen Brown on the table … (to) go get Giannis?”

O’Connor then said that the package could feature Brown, Payton Pritchard, and draft capital from Boston amounting to at least two first-round picks.

The trade would give the Celtics a core of Giannis, Jayson Tatum, and Derrick White moving forward.

The question is, would Celtics fans be happy if this deal ever actually happened?

Brown is reminding everyone of his immense value this season as the Celts deal with life without Tatum. Pritchard is a reigning Sixth Man of the Year who has continued to improve and show that he’s a massive bargain for four years/$30 million.

The idea of swapping out two homegrown studs in Brown and Pritchard for a longtime adversary in Antetokounmpo is sure to leave plenty of Celtics fans with a sour taste in the mouth.

At the same time, others will wonder how mighty the Celtics could be with both Tatum and Giannis sharing the court together.

It was an interesting thought from O’Connor, even if this trade has a close to zero percent chance of ever happening.
