Boston Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown has been playing like an MVP candidate on both sides of the ball this season, and he knows it.

On Wednesday afternoon (New Year’s Eve), Brown took to X and, out of the blue, announced himself as the best two-way basketball player in the world.

You absolutely love to see this type of confidence from Brown, especially given the fact that his production backs up the talk.

JB has stepped up as the Celtics’ primary offensive force in the 2025-26 NBA season with Jayson Tatum sidelined by an Achilles injury. Through 30 games played, Brown is averaging 29.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game on 50.5 percent shooting. His recent scoring surge included an eight-game streak of 30-plus points, matching a rare feat in Celtics history, with a season-high 42 points against the Knicks on December 12. Brown also notched his fourth career triple-double on December 15 against the Cavaliers, tallying 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Despite missing a couple of games due to illness in late December, Brown returned strong, earning Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors for December 22-28 after performances like 37 points against Indiana.

Brown continues to show that he and Tatum are the best one-two punch in the NBA.
