The Boston Celtics have enjoyed some downtime as of late, as they have played just one game over the past week, which was a 116-101 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. On Monday night, though, Jaylen Brown will lead his team into battle against the Detroit Pistons.

Much has been made of Brown’s flaming hot start to the season, which has seen him emerge as a legitimate MVP candidate. Through 24 games, Brown is averaging 29.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 49.9% from the field.

With Jayson Tatum out, Brown has embraced the bigger role he has had to take on, both on and off the court. Brown’s relentless mentality has spread throughout the locker room, and he was seen sporting a new shirt that read “EDMF” on the front, which could have an NSFW meaning that will surely get fans hyped.

The 2025-26 campaign was supposed to be something of a reset year for Boston, but Brown has powered the Celtics to third place in the Eastern Conference early this season. Brown hasn’t been fazed by the team’s new expectations, as he still expects his team to go out and compete at a high level every night.

There have been some hiccups along the way, such as their aforementioned loss to the Bucks, but that’s part of the growing process for the C’s. As long as Brown is on the court for them, they figure to have a shot to win every game they play in.

That will serve them well against a Pistons team that has raced out to a 20-5 start this season. One of those losses came at the hands of the Celtics, though, so this game should be a hard-fought battle. Tip-off is currently scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Monday night.
