The New England Patriots will look to take another step towards wrapping up the AFC East division in Week 17 by taking down the New York Jets. Ahead of this game, the Jets ruled out a handful of key players, which will only make the Patriots’ life easier in this one.

With just two games left in the regular season, injuries are playing a bigger factor than ever across the league. Teams eliminated from playoff contention don’t want guys who are already banged up to suffer serious ailments, while teams in the playoffs want to keep their best guys as healthy as possible.

New York, at 3-12, falls into the first category, as it is simply looking to get through its final two games in one piece. As a result, that led to tight end Mason Taylor, defensive linemen Will McDonald and Jay Tufele and linebacker Kiko Mauigoa all getting ruled out for this game.

“Jets ruled out Mason Taylor, Will McDonald, Jay Tufele and Kiko Mauigoa for Sunday’s game vs. New England,” Adam Schefter shared in a post on X.

With Brady Cook under center for the Jets, they aren’t exactly expected to be competitive in this game vs. the Pats. With the Buffalo Bills lurking right behind New England in the division, though, it is extremely important that the team takes care of business and puts New York to rest in this one.
