Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen believes the team’s secret weapon could be let loose against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

With the Bills’ offense struggling, Buffalo signed veteran receiver Brandin Cooks on Nov. 25 to bring in another veteran receiver.

Since joining the Bills, Cooks hasn’t had a major role, but Allen said the two are in a good spot. He also said Cooks is flying around in practice, which could mean he’s due for a big game against the Patriots on Sunday.

“Yeah, I think we’re in a really good spot,” Allen said of Cooks on Wednesday. “He works his tail off at practice, and he’s obviously been around the league for a very long time. He’s been a true professional.

“He’s always in the wide receiver room, in the playbook, and then when we come out to practice, he’s freaking flying around. So, I feel very, very good, and I think comfort (will) just going to continue to grow.”

Since signing with the Bills, Cooks has recorded just one reception for 13 yards in two games. It’s been a slow start, but if Allen is right, Cooks could be a big part of Buffalo’s offensive plan against the Patriots.

Buffalo enters Sunday’s road game against the Patriots as a 1.5-point favorite.
