Josh Allen sits alongside Tom Brady in one category after steering the Buffalo Bills to a comeback win over the New England Patriots.
Down 21-0 in the second quarter, Allen led the Bills to touchdowns on five straight possessions in a 35-31 win at Gillette Stadium. The reigning MVP notched a noteworthy milestone on Sunday.
NFL.com researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming noted that Allen tied Brady and Russell Wilson for second in all-time wins through a player’s first eight seasons. Allen now has 86 career regular-season victories.
Allen has an opportunity to tie a longtime rival for the record. He’s three wins behind Patrick Mahomes with three games remaining.
Patriots fans will note that Brady didn’t start a game as a rookie, so Allen got a head start. And while Allen is still seeking his first AFC title, Brady already had three Super Bowl rings at this point in his career.

Brady also played 15 more seasons, finishing with 251 regular-season wins and 35 playoff triumphs. Still, Allen has now led the Bills to at least 10 wins in seven straight seasons.
Allen also took a step toward replicating another Brady milestone by securing his sixth career season with at least 35 total touchdowns. Brady and Aaron Rodgers are the only players to accomplish that feat seven times.
The 29-year-old may have played his way back into the MVP mix by throwing three touchdowns on the road. Allen stopped the Patriots from clinching the AFC East for the first time since Brady’s departure.
