Free agent designated hitter Kyle Schwarber has made a decision on which team he’ll be suiting up for in 2026.

“Kyle Schwarber is running it back! Schwarber will suit up for Team USA in the #WorldBaseballClassic!” the official MLB account posted on X.

USA Today MLB columnist Bob Nightengale teased Schwarber’s decision on Tuesday morning amid the rampant rumors surrounding the slugger’s free agency.

“DH Kyle Schwarber has agreed… to represent Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Catcher Will Smith and Shortstop Gunnar Henderson will also be on the roster,” Nightengale posted on Bluesky.

Schwarber joins a host of other superstars on Team USA, including Aaron Judge, Bobby Witt Jr. and Paul Skenes.

Schwarber played for Team USA during the 2023 tournament, when the Americans fell to Japan in the finals.

Team USA opens its 2025 World Baseball Classic slate on March 6 against Brazil in Pool B play.

Schwarber will likely also have made a decision on whether to return to the Philadelphia Phillies or join a new squad by early March.
