Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm is very proud of his team and how they have all bought in.

The Bruins entered the season predicted to miss the playoffs. However, Boston is off to a hot start as Sturm, who’s in his first year as the team’s head coach, has them playing well.

Following Boston’s 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, Sturm explained why he’s so proud of this group.

“I am very proud of my team,” Sturm said on Saturday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “I think it’s always a group effort to do that. I can have the greatest plan and system, whatever it is. But if you don’t buy in, it’s almost useless.

“For me, it’s a group effort. Not just the players, the whole coaching staff, (Sweeney), management. There’s a lot more to it. That’s what I am proud of.”

Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov also echoed Sturm’s comments as he said everyone is buying in and chipping in.

“It’s depth,” Zadorov said. “I think every guy chipped in. There was a message in here that you don’t need to do extra, you’ve just got to be yourself, you’ve got to play your own hockey. We’re good enough to win games like that.”
